My short story Harvest Season has just been announced as the winner of December's Global Short Story Competition.
The judge, Fiona Cooper, said: “This is a show stopper if ever I read one. It reminded me of some Graham Greene short stories with their oppressive atmosphere..... I have great admiration for anyone who takes on such a gruesome and unpleasant subject and more than does it justice.”
Harvest Season concerned a migrant worker selling a kidney so that he could afford to get married - but getting more than he bargained for.
I'll put a link up to the story as soon as it appears
