It's 'Curtains' for me!

After hearing on the grapevine that there was a new fiction editor at You magazine, South Africa, I trawled through some of my 1,500- and 2,000-word stories for anything suitable.

After identifying half a dozen candidates, I submitted the most promising two, had the one titled Curtains accepted within a couple of hours of submission, and sent another one in for good luck.

​What was especially pleasing about the acceptance is that it Curtains is one of those stories that's been looking for a home for some time and which I've always had faith in.

It's been especially difficult to place (in my opinion) because it's humour, a genre notoriously difficult to place because of people's subjective opinions of what constitutes humour.

Anyway, for now it's a time to celebrate.
