What I enjoy about EDF is that you get a bite-size piece of fiction every day - which can be of any genre - and get to discuss what you liked or found wanting in the story. Even though there are occasional spats amongst those commenting (and I'm not entirely innocent of this myself), generally any negative critisisms are aimed at helping fellow writers improve their writing and are taken in good grace. And even if a major row erupts, it's usually all forgotten by the following day.
So how did An Elizabethan Tale get on on EDF? Alas, it scored low (lucky I'm a thick-skinned veteran), but there were many positive comments. When all's said and done though, I'm glad this story finally got to see the light of day - it's one I've always felt deserved a wider audience.
